Our team

Miroslav Vujičić, PhD is an associate professor at the UNSPMF. His main field of interest is decision-making processes, project management, cultural tourism and heritage management, eye-tracking analysis and product development. He has more than 100 papers published and more than 700 citations in the Scopus database. Programme Leader for PhD in tourism. RVP for Eastern Europe in the ITSA network, he has a vast number of contacts with different stakeholders. He serves as the department coordinator for international affairs and student and staff mobility, as well as being a member of the Department Accreditation team, attesting to his experience in creating study programs and managing quality assurance. He developed and implemented more than 30 projects (H2020 EXtremeClimTwin, GreenSCENT, Erasmus+ CULTURWB, DiCultYouth and others). He has also been appointed an expert for external monitoring and impact evaluation of the project Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture 2022 and chief researcher for impact assessment and sustainability of Dubai EXPO 2020 (Contractor Modul University Dubai and Dubai EXPO 2020).

Kimberly Brooke Hansen, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Instruction in the MUMA College of Business School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Dr. Hansen is an academic affiliate of CREST, the Center for Responsible Travel in Washington, D.C. where she collaborates with global partners on sustainable tourism research. Her current projects include assessing the impact of climate change on cultural heritage destinations and using virtual reality technologies to educate about sustainability and tourism at various sites, including Egmont Key in Tampa Bay where Seminole people were held in internment camps in the 1850s. Dr. Hansen was appointed in 2020 to serve on the NFL Super Bowl LV Sustainability Subcommittee and in 2021 as a member of the Scientific Committee for the International Conference on Sustainable Development where she convened a session on Resetting Tourism after COVID-19. Her current work in Serbia involves collaboration with UNDP and other stakeholders on developing sustainable tourism certifications for Serbia.

Lazar Lazić, Ph.D. is a Full Professor at the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Sciences. Prof Lazić has long-term experience in education and project management. As a director of Department of Geography, Tourism and Hotel Management, and deputy-dean for finance of Faculty of Science he gained specific skills, knowledge and expertise in higher education management. He was part of the accreditation process of the several study programs for management. He was a member of 15 grant funded research projects (5 times as a project leader). He has advanced computer skills related to graphic and visual design software such as Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe AfterEffects, Adobe Bridge, Nikon Capture NX2, OnOneRaw; Nik Software, Capture One Pro and other. He is a member of Member of NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals – USA)

Sir Adam Carmer, Ed.D. is a sensory scientist and Assistant Professor in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management in the MUMA College of Business at the University of South Florida. He was named Teacher of the Year in the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada Las Vegas where he taught for 25 years prior to coming to USF. After establishing the first certified green restaurant in Nevada with his craft beer bar in Las Vegas in 2002 known as the Freakin’ Frog, Carmer went on to open the first whisky-only bar in the United States, The Whisky Attic, in 2005. Dr. Carmer is the Founder of The Sensory Innovation Lab and Chair of the Beverage Education Special Interest Group for ICHRIE. Dr. Carmer also developed CSTEM, a cutting-edge deployment of sensory perception for the evaluation of alcoholic beverages.

Uglješa Stankov, Ph.D. is a Full Professor at the UNSPMF. He has specialized skills related to tourism information technologies in e-business, eye tracking analysis and spatial information systems for environmental and business purposes. For two years in a row, he holds first place as the most cited author in the field of Tourism, Leisure, and Hospitality Management in Serbia according to Scopus, and the most cited author in tourism and social geography in Vojvodina. He has vast lecturing skills as a 12-year employee of the Department of Geography, Tourism and Hotel Management and an author and educator of an accredited program for teacher education in the Republic of Serbia. Dr Stankov’s writing and communications skills are evidenced in his 160 published research papers, 4 books related to ICT in tourism management, and over 30 scientific conferences and public lectures and media appearances. He is a member of the International Federation for IT and Travel & Tourism (IFITT) and The International Council on Hotel, Restaurant & Institutional Education (I-CHRIE). He is an editorial member of several international journals: Tourism Geographies, Annals of Tourism Empirical Insights, Information Technology and Tourism and others. His recent book published by Elsevier The Mindful Tourists, among other topics, analyses the mindfulness movement as a behavioral change agent toward a more sustainable tourism economy. He developed, managed and implemented more than 20 projects (H2020, IPA cross-border, Erasmus+ and others). He has also been appointed an internal evaluator of the project Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture 2022 and the researcher for impact assessment and sustainability of Dubai EXPO 2020.

Laura Harrison, Ph.D. is the Director of Access 3D Lab, where she oversees instrumentation and
workflows, spearheads outreach with faculty and researchers, and carries out collaborative digital science and digital humanities research, including the Egmont Key Project in Tampa Bay. Dr. Harrison is an advocate of open access and interdisciplinary approaches in the sciences and humanities. She has numerous publications on digital heritage and over ten years of experience as PI and co-PI of research projects in archaeology and museum studies. Her experience with 3D virtualization includes digitally reconstructing an endangered archaeological site in Turkey, documenting historic architecture in Europe with terrestrial laser scanning, and creating a virtual museum for a collection of global archaeological and ethnographic objects, among others.
